What Is a Sewer Camera?

A sewer camera allows us to visually see what's going on with your septic system.

Taplin Septic Pumping Service and Repair has the capability of performing visual inspections inside sewer lines or other underground pipes using our specially made waterproof sewer line inspection cameras. This makes it possible for us to find and fix issues in pipes located in cement and under your home’s foundation. Using a sewer video camera line takes the mystery out of problems hiding in pipes.

How Does a Sewer Line Inspection Camera Work?

Our professionally trained Roto-Rooter technicians insert a flexible rod with a high-resolution video camera on its tip into the pipe. The flexible rod allows the camera to travel through the pipe to see the pipe in its entirety. The technician can then determine the condition of the inside of the pipe and understand any existing or potential problems.

During a sewer video camera line inspection, radio transmitters on the camera record the depth and physical location from the surface of any defect or obstructions to accurately diagnose and solve any drain line concerns. There is no guesswork, so your problems will be resolved quickly and cost-effectively.

What Problems Can Be Identified?

A sewer video camera line can identify many problems, such as root intrusion and pipe that is misaligned, broken, punctured, off-grade, or corroded. The camera also identifies grease buildup, leaks, and obstructions. The inspection can be repeated after any service is performed to verify that the line has been properly cleaned.

When Should My Pipes Undergo an Inspection?

Sewer line inspections are recommended if you experience repeated drain line backups, slow drains, or clogs. Additionally, hiring Taplin Septic Pumping Service and Repair to perform this inspection before you purchase a home will help ensure that your sewer lines are free of issues, which can cause headaches and expensive service after you move in.
